UESTC Sino-US Humanities Exchanges Scholarship Regulations

IIntroduction

In order to attract more American outstanding young students to study in China and help US government achieve the goal of sending 100,000 students to study in China set by president Obama during his visit to China in 2009, China’s Ministry of Education especially set up the scholarship for Sino-US humanities exchanges, which is open for degree students and credits students scholarship totaling 10,000 students. The scholarship is open till year 2013.

As one of the universities eligible of receiving CSC students, UESTC welcome American students to study here.

IIScholarship Types

   1. Degree Student Scholarship (Master and PhD Degree)

   2. Credits Student Scholarship (Bachelor, Master and PhD students)

IIIEligible Applicants

  1. Degree Student Scholarship

This scholarship is open to American full-time students meeting UESTC international student requirements for Master degree and above. Students who have received any subsidies from any fund are excluded.

■ English Instructed Major for Master and PhD Degrees

Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Engineering, Management Science and Finance

2. Credits Student Scholarship

This scholarship intends to enlarge exchange scale or extend exchange programs between UESTC and partner universities. It is open to those American students whose credits in UESTC are to be recognized by American universities and their duration of study should be more than three months (three months included).

IVItems Included in Scholarship

1 、Tuition fee, text book fee and on-campus accommodation fee waiver

2 、Monthly Allowance (1700 RMB per month for Master student; 2000 RMB per month for PhD student)

3 、One-time resettlement fees 1500

4 、Comprehensive Medical Insurance

5 、International Travelling Expense is to Student’s Own Account

VApplication Date

February 1st, 2012 to March 31st, 2012

Enrolling Date: Degree students should enroll at the end of August every year and please refer to Admission Letter for specific date; Credits students can enroll from September 1st to March 7th every year.

VIApplication Procedures

1. Degree students should provide one original copy of the following documents.

(1) Applicants should submit application information on line (http://laihua.csc.edu.cn and UESTC Agency No. is 10641) and then print out the CSC Application Form generated by the system and sign it, and mail it with other materials to UESTC.

(2) Notarized highest degree diploma is needed. Certificate of study or employment certificate and approval certificate are needed if the applicant is still a college student or an employee of some units.

(3)Notarized Previous Degree Transcripts

(4)Study Plan

(5)Two Recommendation Letter by two professors or associate professors in Chinese or English

(6) UESTC International Student Application Form (en.uestc.edu.cn)

(7)Hard copies of passport

(8)Physical Check Form for Foreigners

2. Credits students should provide one original copy of the following documents.
