●What are the documents required for the online application system?

Please prepare the following documents while applying in the online application system.

1. The Photocopy of Passport (Pages with photo and address)

2. Notarized Certificates or Letter of Attestation from Your University

3. Academic Transcripts

4.Certificate of the Language Proficiency

5. Two Academic Recommendation Letter (Graduate students only)

6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Not in China) or VISA Page (In China) (Click here to download the Foreigner Physical Examination Form)

7. CV or Personal Statement (Your CV must be up to date, covering all your experiences, including education and employment experience)

8. Research Proposal/Study Plan (Graduate students only)

9. Acceptance Letter (Graduate students only, preferred) (Click here to download the form of acceptance letter)

10. Financial Statement (Self-sponsored only)

11. CSC Application Form Downloaded after Applying in the CSC Website (CSC applicants only)

Criteria

●How to prepare for the diploma if I haven’t graduated from the school?

We accept the studying certificate / academic attestation which guarantees that the diploma / certificate could be issued upon graguation. A complete transcript is required to be provided along with the studying certificate / academic attestation.

●Do I need certain grades or marks to be considered for admission?

Due to the difference in of the size, academic program and grading policies, our admission is flexible. But, of course, the more excellent you are, the bigger change you will have.

●What admissions criteria do you use?

Our admission is strict yet flexible. Academic accomplishment in your previous school is important, but the Admissions Committee also considers other factors, such as leadership capability, talent in extracurricular activities, personal qualities and so on.

●Are my chances of gaining admission enhanced if a relative has attended UESTC?

The application process is the same for all candidates.

●How important are extracurricular activities in admission decisions?

It depends. But we are definitely welcome well-rounded and talented students.

●What is the criteria of each scholarship?

About the criteria of each scholarship, here are the details:

1. Chinese Government Scholarship-Chinese University Program (CSC Scholarship)

· This scholarship only supports graduate students.

· This scholarship program generally does not support registered students who are studying in China when applying for this scholarship.

· This scholarship program is not available for applicants who applying for Management Science and Engineering, Public Management, Mathematics and Physics .

2. University Scholarship for New Students at UESTC

· This scholarship only supports graduate students.

· This scholarship program supports applicants who are studying both in China and out of China when applying for this scholarship.

· Applicants who apply for Management Science and Engineering, Public Management, Mathematics and Physics can start your application from December 20th, 2016 . Applicants who apply for other specialties, the application will starts February 20th, 2017·

Master program in Management Science and Engineering is closed for the 2017 academic year. 

Language Requirements

●Which standardized language tests does UESTC require?

Normally, we require all applicants to complete the TOEFL or IELTS to apply for English-instructed programs or HSK to apply for Chinese-instructed programs. The minimum score or cut-off is 80 by TOFEL or 5.5 by IELTS; 210 by HSK 4 for Bachelor or 210 by HSK6 for Master or PhD. We regard test results as helpful indicators of academic ability and achievement when considered thoughtfully among many other factors.

What if I do not have TOFEL/IELTS result?

Normally, we require all applicants to pass TOEFL or IELTS for application for English-instructed programs or HSK for Chinese-instructed programs. The minimum score is 80 in TOFEL or 5.5 in IELTS; HSK 4 for Bachelor or HSK6-7 for Master or PhD. We regard test results as valuable indicators of academic ability and achievement when taking other factors into account.

For applicants applying for English-instructed programs, if they don't have TOFEL/ IELTS certificate, we will have an interview with them before we make any decision. The other international standard test is acceptable. We take your language proficiency certificate from your school into consideration.

●If I take the required tests more than once, which results does UESTC consider?

We consider your best test scores.
