Alliance Française de Chengdu Moves to New Address

\On June 16, the Reopening Ceremony of Alliance de Française de Chengdu was held at its new address—UESTC’s Information Industry Building. French Ambassador Madame Sylvie Bermann and UESTC President Wang Jinsong jointly unveiled the plaque. Among the over 200 people present at the ceremony were also Deputy Director Tan Xin of Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Vice-president Wang Houjun of UESTC, officials from Chengdu Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and from the French Consulate in Chengdu, and teachers and students from Alliance Française de Chengdu. 

\\\According to Prof. Di Aiying, Director of UESTC International Office and Chinese Co-director of AFC, Alliance Française de Chengdu has been steadily growing, and presently it has more than 200 students taught by 9 full-time teachers from France and 8 part-time teachers from China and France. It now boats a teaching and administrative floor area of 1,300 m2. The new location provides people in Chengdu and its vicinities an easier access to French language training programs at all levels as well as a variety of activities showing cultures from French-speaking countries.
