Admissions Delegation from University of Leuven, Belgium Pays a Visit

On April 8, Professor Zha Jianzhong pays a visit to UESTC, together with 5 other Boarder members of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, University of Leuven, Belgium. Vice president Wang Houjun and representatives from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange warmly receive them.

This visit is aimed to enhance cooperation between the two sides and recruit some outstanding sophomores major in polytechnics who would get BA degrees of both sides after graduation. After volunteer application, recommendation by their schools, and assessment by the Abroad Study Selection Panel, there would be 8 candidates enter the final interview held by University of Leuven.

In the evening, the delegation has offer a detail presentation on the cooperation project, and interviews the applicants interested in it.

It is reported that University of Leuven also has applied for scholarship for those 2+2 duel degree UESTC pupils. Among these studying abroad, one fifth could be financially assisted by University of Leuven. Furthermore, University of Leuven has specially reapportioned one quota of “Hongzhi Scholarship” for UESTC students. This scholarship system, particularly designed for poverty-stricken Chinese science and technology students who excel in moral and academic performance and enjoys frequency in English, covers the tuition fees, cost of living and dormitory, international air fare, and moreover, offers a laptop for their study convenience.
