Delegation of TUNE (Italy) visited UESTC

On the morning of June 21, a five-member delegation from Tuscany University Network(TUNE), Italy, paid a visit to UESTC. The leaders of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange extended a warm welcome to Prof. Alesandro Mecocci, the head of Engineering Department and International Office of University of Siena, Ms. Alessandra Gentile, the head of International Office of University of Florence, Mr. Wang Yuntao, the China representative of TUNE and other guests.


Prof. Di Aiying, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, UESTC, introduced the history, academics, and international collaboration of our university. She said that Italy had a world-wide reputation for its science, technology, art, sports and food, so it was our sincere wish that Chinese students could have the opportunity to experience the unique and charming Italian culture, and UESTC and the partner universities of TUNE were able to collaborate on scientific research, scholars and students’ mobility, and cultural exchange.

Then Prof. Alesandro Mecocci and Ms. Alessandra Gentile presented the general information about University of Siena and University of Florence respectively. They both expressed good wishes to enhance and promote the international cooperation on short visits of scholars and students, the credit transfer system, and the opportunity to recommend excellent Chinese students to study at one of the universities or research institutes of TUNE for Master’s degree. They also hoped that Italian students could be sent to UESTC for getting a degree and short visits.
