UESTC delegation participated in the Sino-French high-level forum

From November 6th to 7th, UESTC delegation, led by our Vice President Wang Houjun, participated in the 4th Sino-French high-level forum on local government cooperation in Strasbourg, France.

The forum was proposed by France and jointly held by governments at all levels in both countries. It is a high-level conference in which the two countries discuss about their future developments.

Vice Chairman Ji Bingxuan of the NPC Standing Committee delivered a speech on the opening ceremony. He said, “This year is the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. Since ‘Chinese Dream’ resembles ‘French Dream’, we two countries need to deepen our cooperation in economy, education, culture and many other fields.

Vice President Wang Houjun of UESTC chaired the sub-forum and made a special report— UniversityScience Park: the stage and bridge for strengthening the collaboration between universities and enterprises. He pointed out the university science park is of great significance to promote the cooperative relationship between universities and enterprises. As a key university sponsored by China’s 985 Project and 211 Project, UESTC ranked the 91st in the world’s engineering universities according to US News. Our UESTC was always actively developing UESTC Science Park to make more contribution to the local economic growth.

There were nearly 600 participants from both France and China.

After the forum, our school’s art troupe presented a wonderful performance, receiving high praise from the guests.
