Delegation of UESTC paid a visit to Royal Cambodia Consulate General and Consula

Recently, officials of the Office of Int'l Cooperation of UESTC and UoG-UESTC Joint School paid a visit to Royal Cambodia Consulate General and Consulate General of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Kunming, aiming at opening a new student recruitment channel.

Consul General of Royal Cambodia Consulate General in Kunming Mr. Sao Khoradin expressed his gratitude to UESTC for our care for Cambodian students who were studying in our university. He also said he would continue to support our student recruitment work in Cambodia. Director of the Office of Int'l Cooperation of UESTC Di Aiying extended the Cambodian New Year’s greeting to Mr. Sao Khoradin. She expressed thanks to Mr. Sao Khoradin for his support and introduced the general situation of 16 Cambodian students who performed well in UESTC. She hoped that there would be more Cambodian students coming to study in UESTC. During the meeting, Director Di Aiying also introduced the international joint program between University of Glasgow and UESTC.

 

The day our delegation visited Consulate General of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Kunming is the birthday of Consul General Mrs. Shahnaz Gazi. On behalf of UESTC, Director Di Aiying wished Mrs. Shahnaz Gazi happy birthday. She also introduced the general situation of our university’s education of foreign students and the international joint program between University of Glasgow and UESTC. Mrs. Shahnaz Gazi extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She said that the rapid development in China impressed her deeply. She hoped that there could be more Bangladeshi students coming to study in China to make more contribution to the construction of Bangladesh. Having knowing a Bangladeshi student who graduated from UESTC was serving in Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. in Shenzhen, Mrs. Shahnaz Gazi was very glad, expressing that she would fully support our student recruitment work in Bangladesh.

 

 

News Background:

Since 2010, there have been 17 Cambodian students coming to studying in UESTC, one of who graduated in July 2014 and returned to Cambodia to work. The Cambodian New Year is one of the three major festivals in Cambodian which is celebrated from April 13th to 15th every year. Related activities were hold in the library of UESTC on April 16th this year.

So far, there have been 5 Bangladeshi students coming to studying in UESTC, three of who have already graduated. The student who is serving in Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. in Shenzhen graduated from School of Automation in July 2013 and has submitted the application of doctor’s degree to our university.
