Polish Consul General in Chengdu visited UESTC

In the afternoon of March 7th, with the purpose to learn better about the recent development of UESTC and the cooperation and exchange between UESTC and Poland, the Polish Consul General in Chengdu Katarzyna Wilkowiecka and his companies visited UESTC, and were warmly received by the Vice President Xiong Caidong on the Qingshuihe campus.\

Vice President Xiong Caidong extended a warm welcome to Consul General Katarzyna Wilkowiecka and his companies, and introduced UESTC in terms of discipline features, faculty building and international collaboration. He said, in recent years, Poland has enjoyed a rapid development, with the economic growth remaining in a high speed. Last October, the delegation from a number of Polish universities visited UESTC and successfully held the Polish Higher Education Forum on the Qingshuihe campus. This year, UESTC will make active preparation for visiting programs to the counterpart colleges and universities in Poland. Under the “One Belt One Road” policy carried out by Chinese government, UESTC is looking forward to promoting a more strengthened cooperation with top universities in Poland in fields of science and technology.\

Consul General Katarzyna Wilkowiecka introduced the higher education in Poland and talked about the new Consulate General of Poland in Chengdu. She said that there are numerous top institutions and universities featured in science and technology, which have produced a large number of talents in computer design and electronic engineering. She expressed a great gratitude for the warm hospitality, hoping that with the support of the School of Linguistic and Literature USETC, polish language courses could be offered in UESTC by linguistic teachers from Poland so as to arouse the Chinese students’ interest to study in Poland. The Consulate General of Poland in Chengdu is readily to provide the support and help needed for the cooperation between UESTC and universities and institution in Poland.
