Academician Liu Shenggang Visits W&M

At President Reveley's invitation, Liu Shenggang, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently paid a visit to College of William and Mary.

On September 29, President Reveley had a friendly interview with Liu. On behalf of W&M and himself, Reveley extended his warm welcome to the visitor and congratulated on the 55th Anniversary of UESTC and its achievements in the past 55 years. He asked Liu to communicate his best regards and congratulations to President Wang Jinsong.

Academician Liu showed his satisfaction with the efforts W&M and UESTC had taken to develop relationship and the achievements both had made since the two universities recognized each other as sisters last year. Before he came to the United States, said Liu, President Wang had asked him to give President Reveley his best regards and his invitation to President Reveley to visit UESTC at his own convenience. The host expressed his gratitude, saying that arrangements were being made for his visit to UESTC.

  They talked about prospects for future cooperation between the two universities. President Reveley also expressed his appreciation of the work Liu had done as a distinguished guest professor at W&M.

Mr. Hanson, W&M deputy dean of dudies, Yang Lan, UESTC liason officer at W&M, and Liu Chaoyu, UESTC alumnus, were also present at the interview.
