UESTC Hosts International Summit on Brain Function and Brain Imaging

On the morning of November 19, the International Summit on Brain Function and Brain Imaging (The 3nd IEEE Workshop on Communication among Neuroscience, Cognition and Information Technology or CNCI’2011) opened at UESTC. Experts and scholars from home and abroad gathered for discussions focusing on brain function and brain imaging with selected talks covering Brain connectivity, brain wave, brain-computer Interface, language cognition, music cognition and others.

Those present at the opening ceremony included Xiong Caidong, Vice-president of UESTC, Pedro A Valdes-Sosa, Director of Cuban Center for Neuroscience and scholars from Zhejiang University, Hong Kong University, South China Universty of Technology, Research Institute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Science, and Beijing Normal University as well as UESTC.

On behalf of the university, Vice-president Xiong Caidong spoke to express his congratulations on the opening of the workshop, his warm welcome to all the scholars present and his sincere wish for the success of the meeting.

The workshop was planned to last for two days with  four seessions in which twelve representatives would deliver speeches. An extra session for discussion s would also be held on the first evening.
