\On November 16, Fortune (Chinese Edition) published a top-25 list of the most influential Chinese business women. Sun Yafang, president of the Board of Directors of Huawei Corporation and a UESTC alumna, ranks first on the list.

Sun was enrolled as a student by UESTC in 1977 and studied in the School of Communication and Information Engineering. She is the only one on the list who directs a world top-500 enterprise. She has helped Huawei establish a marketing system admired by all her competitors and created Huawei's unique norms of huaman talent. In the past twelve years serving as president of the Board of Directors, she has been working hard in collaboration with Mr. Ren Zhengfei and has successfully built her company into the world's second largest supplier of mobile commnuication equipment.

Fortune (Chinese) comments that Sun will be able to lead Huawei in the process of reaching the goals of its new strategic developmental outlook for the next decade—to restructure the company so as to enable it to make full use of new opportunities offered by new technologies like cloud computing and related equipment research and development, and to raise its production value up above the one billion-dollar mark.
