UESTC Launches Joint Education Programs with UMD

From Devember 22 to 23, Professor Chen Yubao from School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan at Dearborn, USA, China Project Manager, paid a visit to UESTC. President Wang Jinsong interviewed the guest. An agreement was signed on student exchange programs between the two universities.

During his visit, Professor Chen discussed with UESTC Office of International Exchange and Cooperation issued concerning the implementation procedures of the 3+2 bachelor and master program and the 3+1 bachelor program which are scheduled to start in 2012 and had talks with professors from UESTC School of Electromechanics on cooperation in disciplinary construction, scientific research, faculty training and other areas.

On the afternoon of the 23, Professor Chen gave the students a lecture entitled “Study in the USA and UESTC-UMD Joint Education Programs”. He shared with the students his nearly thirty years of experience in America, which well illustrated how overseas study experience could enrich one’s life, expand one’s cultural vision and benefit one’s personal development. He gave a detailed introduction to the UESTC-UMD joint education programs.
