School of Information and Software Engineering Receives Guests from USM

On March 15, a delegation of faculty and students from University of Science Malaysia (USM) paid a visit to UESTC's School of Information and Software Engineering and participated with hosts in a variety of cultural exchange activities.

 

 

Students and faculty members from School of ISE gave the guests a warm welcome. Their PPT presentations showed the Malaysian guests some of the beautiful scenic spots and historical sites in and around Chengdu City as well as the learning environment and academic atmosphere on UESTC campus. In return, the Malaysian students displayed to the hosts the rich campus life and colorful communitiy activities they had in Malaysia with their well designed video presentations. They also showed their exchange programs with universities around the world.

 

The Malaysian students performed with enthusiasm unique ethnical dances on the square in front of the school building and invited UESTC teachers and stduents to join them. Their joyous dancing attracted huge crowds and won hearty rounds of applause.

 

Founded in 1967 and situated in Penang some 300 kilometers away from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, USM is one of Malysia's state-run universities and presently has over 20,000 students. It is a university that enjoys a good reputation internationally for its academic research. It is known as one of the three most prestigeous universities in Malaysia and ranks 111th among top world universities.
