UESTC Signs Cooperation Agreement with DIT

From March 25 to 28, Mr. Enda Kenny, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland, led a delegation of Commerce and Investment to China. At the invitation of the Irish Embassy in China, President Wang jinsong attended a breakfast meeting hosted by the Irishi delegation in Beijing. The same day, on behalf of UESTC, Wang Jinsong signed an agreement with Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) on exchange and cooperation between the two universities in education, scientific research and culture.

A joint doctorial education program was launched by UESTC and DIT in 2007. Zhou Erqiang, a student from UESTC's School of Computer Science, became one of the first PH. D holders through the National Graduate Students Education Program for Constructing Top-class Universities sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the very first doctorial student with the CSC program in Ireland. During his doctoriasl studies, one of his academic paper received the Best Quantitative Research Paper Award at the international conference IADIS 2011 held in Spain.
