Li Jianfu Wins International Incoming Fellowships Project

Recently, Mr. Li Jianfu, an associate professor from UESTC School of Optoelectronic Information and member of a research team under Prof. Liu Yong, has successfully bit for a research project in collaboration with Aston University in Great Britain, a project with Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships—FP7-PEOPLE-2011-IIF, which is part of the 7th EU Research Framework Programme. Under the name of “Mid-infrared fiber lasers (Proposal Number: 911333)”, Li’s project received a final evaluation grade of A from the approving committee. It is one of the 204 approved projects out of a total of 1304 candidate projects for the year of 2011. Focusing on the research of new technology in mid-infrared laser development, the project is to be given 230,000 euros within a research period of three years, 215,000 euros of which is to be allocated to research conducted in collaboration with Bristish researchers in the first two years, and 15,000 euros will be put to use for research to be carried out at UESTC in the third year. The project is regarded to be inducive to deepening the scientific exchange and cooperation between UESTC and the European Union.
