On May 25, Dr. Steven Gamble, President of Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU), accompanied by Mr. Wukang Li, International Department Director of World American Culture Exchange (WACE), paid a visit to UESTC. Vice-president Wang Houjun received the guests and exchanged views with them on cooperation.

Wang Houjun first gave the guests a brief introduction to UESTC's historical development and current situation, and then he highly commented on ENMU's academic achievements. UESTC international cooperation officials told the guests about the overseas study programs for UESTC students and their participation in international academic exchange in recent years, hoping for more extensive exchange and cooperation with ENMU.

President Gamble expressed his gratitude for the warm reception the hosts had given them. He then talked about ENMU and its home city—Portales. As an ardent China fan, Dr. Gamble said, he was deeply impressed by Chinese students in America and he hoped to see frequent exchange between the two universities and to see UESTC students seeking opportunities for overseas study experience at ENMU which could provide excellent undergraduate education programs. Dr. Gamble also extended his invitation to UESTC leadership for a friendly visit soon at ENMU.

After the interview, President Gamble and his friend were shown around the Qingshui River Campus.
