They also expressed UESTC's willingness to launch extensive cooperation with excellent universities worldwide.

Prof. Lamb expressed his gratitude towards UESTC's warm hospitality and gave some general information about the engineering disciplines at the University of Melbourne, saying that with a great academic diversity, Melbourne enjoyed favorable conditions for scientfic research. In recent years, he said, the governments of both countries had taken efforts to deepen the bilateral friendship. The Australian government had allocated great sums of money to fund scholarship programs for international students, providing supportive policies for exchange between students from both countries. He extended his welcome to UESTC students who would seek opportunities to study at Melbourne, believing that the university would give them unforgetable memories in their life.

Both the hosts and guests hoped to see full-scale cooperation between the two universities as well as further academic and cultural exchange between Melbourne and UESTC students.
