Biography: Kaixin Chen was born in Sichuan, China, in 1972. He received the M.S. degree in physics and Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering both from Jilin University, Changchun, China, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. From 2002 to 2009, he was with Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) of the City University of Hong Kong as a research Stuff. He is currently working with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, as a Full Professor. He has authored and co-authored more than 50 scientific papers and conference presentations, 2 patents. His current research interests include passive and active optical waveguide devices, including switch, modulator, mode (de)multiplexer, delay line, and so on.
