Biography: At present, Dr. Xiangdong Xu (Ph.D.-Science) is a professor of Optical Engineering at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), a Project Appraisal Expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), an Appraisal Expert of PhD Dissertation for the China Ministry of Education, an Appraisal Expert for Science and Technology Award in Sichuan province, as well as Reviewer for many important Journals.  
Education experience: (1) 1987.09-1991.07, B Sc at East China Normal University, Shanghai; (2)1995.09-1998.07, M Sc at Tsinghua University, Beijing: (3) 1998.08-2001.11, Doctor Degree in Science (Ph.D.) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hongkong; (4)2001.12-2003.12, Post-Doctor at Peking University, Beijing; (5) 2004.03-2007.04, An Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University, Beijing; (6) 2007.04-Now, an Associate Professor and then a Professor at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu of P.R. China.
