Biography: Dr. Xia Xiang is currently a Professor at School of Physical Electronics, the University of Electronic Science and Techonology of China (UESTC). She received her Ph.D. in Optics from UESTC at 2008. During her Ph.D. study, she visited as research associates at the University of MIchigan and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in USA. She also visited as a senior research scientist at the University of New South Wales in Sydney in Australia in 2016. Her research interests include understanding, designing, fabricating and characterizing advanced nanostructures and physical properties of insulator materials with novel functionalities, interaction between laser and ion beams with materials, surface modification of optical materials and films used for the high power laser facilities. She has published more than 100 research papers (including Phys.Rev.Lett, Nanoscale, Sci.Rep. App.Phys.Lett. and Nanotech etc.). She has served as Editorial Board for Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) since 2015 and an active referee for more than 20 internationally recognized materials, physical, and chemical journals (e.g. J.Mat.Chem.C and Chem.Comm.).
