Dual-Degree Program
SISE offers international students the opportunity to study Software Engineering and Business Administration courses simultaneously in the dual-degree undergraduate program operated by a joint effort by SISE and SME (the School of Management and Economics) of UESTC. This collaborative program allows students to choose their specialty directions after taking the first two-year core courses in curriculum. The program provides international undergraduate students with the following tracks:
-          Single-degree: Software Engineering
-          Dual-degree I: Major in Software Engineering with minor in Business Administration
-          Dual-degree II: Major in Business Administration with minor in Software Engineering
In the four-year study, upon successful completion of all courses and meeting all requirements of the dual-degree programs, students will receive two bachelor degrees, i.e. Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Business Administration.

1.        What is the Dual-Degree Program?
The dual-degree undergraduate program operated by a joint effort by SISE (School of Information and Software Engineering) and SME (the School of Management and Economics) of UESTC. This collaborative program allows students to choose their specialty directions after taking the first two-year core courses in curriculum. The program provides international undergraduate students with the following tracks:
-            Single-degree:  Software Engineering
-            Dual-degree I: Major in Software Engineering with minor in Business Administration
-            Dual-degree II: Major in Business Administration with minor in Software Engineering
In the four-year study, upon successful completion of all courses and meeting all requirements of the dual-degree programs, students will receive two bachelor degrees, i.e. Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Business Administration.
 
2.        What is the objective of thisDual-Degree Program?
The objective of this program is to equip students with knowledge in both Software Engineering and Management, with logic of science, practice of technology, and idea of management. The graduates can be either software engineers with management way of thinking or managers with software technological background.
 
3.        Why choose the Dual-Degree Program?
This program is intended to prepare leaders in the high-technology companies. It’s more than just programming, but management. In this program, students have the opportunity to take core courses in both Software Engineering and Business Administration. If students are interested in programming, but don’t want to be writing programs all their lives, then the program is a good choice. Students will be taught technical skills required to understand the programming or algorithm, and business skills needed to bring the company to a higher level. 
 
4.        How many degrees will be awarded?
Students who fulfill the requirement will be awarded bachelors’ degrees in both Software Engineering and Business Administration.
 
5.        What opportunities are available after graduation?
Upon graduation, students can find software engineer or management positions in multi-national corporations as well as any international corporations. They can also be leaders in R&D team, and can pursue higher degrees in Chinese or overseas universities.
 
6.        How to apply for the collaborative program?

7.        What is the tuition fee of the Program?
The tuition fee is ¥20,000 per year.
 
8.        Apart from the tuition and accommodation fees, are there any other expenses? 
Applicants are to take note that once admitted, they are responsible for providing for their up-keep (minimum of ¥1,000 or $150 per month). They are also required to pay for annual renewal of residence permit of ¥400 ($67). Medical insurance is covered once you pay the tuition.
 
9.        How is the accommodation?
The University provides the students with international dormitory, with 2 students sharing one room with annual fee of RMB6000 Yuan. There are 3 large canteens on campus with various selection of food.
 
10.    Are there any scholarship opportunities?

11.    What is the medium of teaching; English or Chinese?
The medium of teaching is in English; however students can decide to attend some courses taught in Chinese.
 
12.    What is the duration of the program?
The program is four (4) years.
 
13.    Is there any opportunity to work while schooling?
UESTC provides some on-campus part-time jobs. The part time job off the campus should be legal and also be approved by the office of international student affairs’.
